Stupid Fucking Bird

from $10.00

Aaron Posner's fearless, funny, and quietly devastating riff on Chekhov's The Seagull. Artists and lovers collide at a lakeside house, chasing love, fame, and someone to blame. Staged inside a warehouse around a half-built proscenium (scaffolding, lights, and backstage all in full view), the production sets Chekhov's grounded realism beneath Posner's wry, modern pacing: absurd and painfully real in equal measure, this is the kind of play where you find yourself in every character, sometimes uncomfortably. These are people searching for new forms of art, of love, of living—and, in a small way, so is this production.

Runtime: approximately 2.5 hours with one intermission. Recommended for ages 16+.

Location: Ciel Creative Space

This production contains strong language, references to and depictions of suicide and mental illness, references to child loss, the use of a stage gun with the sound of gunfire, haze effects, and audience interaction. Patrons who may be affected are encouraged to reach out to untitledtheater@gmail.com with any questions.

All proceeds go toward funding future productions and creating opportunities for emerging artists on campus.
