Untitled Theater Company & The Matthew Shepard Foundation present:

The Laramie Project

Directed by Daniel Lopez. Written by Moisés Kaufman.

Show Description

The Laramie Project explores the reactions of the Laramie, Wyoming community, to the hate-motivated murder of Matthew Shepard, an openly-gay college student. The play presents over 200 interviews with residents, first responders, and religious leaders to showcase the differing and diverse perspectives on the crime and its aftermath. 25 years after the initial production, this show continues an important conversation in American society. Although much time has passed since this show’s conception, there is still much more work to be done. Because we are in frightening and uncertain times, we hope to spread the messages expressed in The Laramie Project. — Daniel Lopez, Director
